2008
August, the heat of the summer! Let God's "fire" heat us up as well! Communion is on the 3rd this month. Our kids leave for their camp on monday at 9:15 to head up to Lambert for a time of fun, and drawing closer to the Lord, they will return on the 8th at 3:30 in the afternoon. The Board has a meeting on the 10th to work out details on some of our projects. The men plan a trip up the Morrision Jeep trail on the 16th of the month, and will be leaving the parking lot at 7:30am. Our worship team meets for a potluck after the service on the 17th to discuss direction and needs for this coming year. The Youth have a "back to school" fun night on the 20th. Royal Rangers will be having a training meeting for leaders on Sat. the 23rd from 8am until 4pm. Our west of 60's group will have a camp at hungry Horse from the 25th- the 27th - with the Goodman's being the special speakers! Keep in touch for a break down of what all of the groups are doing!
HISTORY: 2008 events:
July was a month with opportunities, on the 3rd we prepared our float for the Laurel fourth of July parade. On the 4th we passed out ice cold bottled water with scriptures on the labels for our community during the parade. It was awesome! Also after the parade we had a BBQ at Eric and Patti's house and about 40 people came. On the 6th we had a guest in the morning service sharing about Trinity Bible College. Our Men had their annual "camping trip" at Red Lodge from the night of the 10th through the 13th.Lots of fun, prayer, and fellowship, and Eric caught his first fish in 2 years! Jr. Teen camp started on the 13th- the 19th at Hungry horse...God touched and moved in many young peoples lives. Rick Herr shared his missions trip to Moldova after a BBQ on the 16th at the church.The Ladies had a Bible study on the morning of the 19th. Tim Warner shared on Sunday the 20th, and the West of 60's had a special speaker for an evening service. The youth did their final fundraiser for camp with a "Free car wash" at Ricky's express on the 26th. The Sr. teens left for their camp on the 27th-Aug 2nd, God moved in their lives! "Mcfellowship" with the men continued each wed. morning at 6:30 at McDonalds. Gary and Patti Lorenzen were sent out on the 27th to start their training at Trinity Bible College, we will miss them!
June started with Communion on the 1st, and then after service on the 1st we held an election for a new Deacon, and a short business meeting, Gary Lorenzen was elected to the board. Several went to Sidney for a joint ATV trip with their men's group on the 7th and 8th. The "West of 60's" had a big BBQ at the Keele's home at 1:00pm on the 8th after church, weather was bad but fellowship was good. Royal Rangers and Girl Guard held a spagetti dinner and awards night on the 11th. Father's Day was the 15th of June. The Big event for Ranger boys started on the 19th with the Ranger Mtn. Adventure at Judith Gap. the boys and men had a good time and it was a great 4 days. The ladies started a Bible study "Organic God" and have been enjoying it as a great study for women. We had the annual youth garage sale on the 27th and 28th to raise money for camps. Lastly, we had a missionary night on the 29th of June at 6:00pm Tim an Liz from India! Home groups held a BBQ during the month of June... find one to go get connected!
May? Is Spring came quickly! May started with the "National Day of Prayer" community prayer meeting at New Life Foursquare on May 1st. Communion Sunday was on the 4th, and we had a guest speaker from the Gideons that morning as well. The Royal Rangers went on a campout on the 9th and 10th down by the river near Columbus, and it was not dampened even with the rain! Lorin Peterson and Kendra Pelacore were married on the night of the 10th at 6:00PM! The Ladies had a mother/daughter tea on the 10th at 10am with about 23 in attendance. Mothers Day was on the 11th this year. We had a community outreach on the 14th, we hosted "Lifeline screening" for our community and about 200 people came for low cost health screening. We poured our handicaped parking slab on the the 13th. The Board had a meeting on the 18th. Then teens took 25 to the new Narnia movie on the 21st. Our first church campout for the year was on the 23rd of May and went through the 26th. The 24th was our church wide picnic and BBQ at the base of the Pryor Mountains at the campout location. Linda Linear shared her ministry with a memorial Day tribute on the 25th, and did awesome! Ranger Mountain work day was on the 31st! Keep in touch, and may God keep your path!
April: District Council meetings in Kalispell were through the 3rd of the month, Montana elected a new youth director for the State. Carol Howel used the church for a retreat on the 4th and 5th. Communion was on Sunday the 6th. The Royal rangers and Girl Guard went on a fossil hunt on the 12th, they had a great time with 42 kids and 10 adults in attendance! The ladies had a fellowship meeting on the 19th. A Passover Seder was held at the church on the night of the 19th. The Sunday morning service on the 20th was given to the youth to minister to us, they did great! It was followed by a "slave auction" and 700 dollars was raised for camp scholarships. The Youth group had our 5th paintball WAR on the 26th, wow! The men had a guest speaker on Sunday night the 27th, Mike Keele- who recently return from a missions trip in Africa. The meal was BBQ chicken wings and pasta salad! The West of 60's went to Cody doing a two day trip on the 29th and 30th, visiting the musemum for two days and also taking in the night showing of Legacy Five (a Gospel group). Home groups started off with great attendance, and will be continuing through the summer, come on in and get connected!
March: On the first we had the state Royal ranger Derby in Sidney where the kids had a great time. Communion and a Board Meeting were on the 2nd. On the 8th the Rangers and Girl Guard went sleding and it was a perfect day! The night of the 8th we had Progresive Dinner. The 9th was our Annual Business meeting which started with a potluck after the service. We had missionaries in that night at 6:30. The speed-the-light tour with missionary Will Henderson and Keith Elder were in on the 13th. Roy Voss dumped a couple of loads of gravel on the parking lot on the 14th! Jews for Jesus helped us with a community outreach on the 15th with a "Christ in the passover" presentation. Robbyn Warner shared her dream of missions to the church on the 16th. Good Friday (the 21st) we showed the movie "The Passion" it is alway a very humbleing time! We had a breakfast for the "west of 60's" group at the owl with a special guest, Pastor Gary Bobo! Easter Sunday was awesome with two services... a sunrise service at 6:00am and our regular service at 10:00am. Home groups are now forming with the kickoff on the 30th of March of 5 groups!
February had a few choice items on the menu! We had communion on the 3rd, a Royal Ranger/Girl Guard SLEEPOVER on the 8th and 9th. They ate pizza, went swimming, and designed pinewood derby cars. The 10th was the Men's wild Game feed with about 27 guys. Then on the 14th was our annual Valentine's Day Dinner with Prime Rib and Shrimp with 42 in attendance this year! The teens had a lock-in for the "30 hour famine" on the 15th and 16th, about 8 teens went the whole 30 hours without food.The Ladies had a meeting at Kathy Herr's home on the 16th. 14 of our Men went to the state-wide Men's retreat on the 22nd and 23rd to hear Dave Roever and spend time worshiping with 430 men from Montana. It was an awesome time.Then on the 24th our service was put on by our Women's Ministry! That night at 6:30 we had our local Derby Race and 42 cars raced it out on the track. Carmen Peterson had our fastest car overall!
January started with Communion on the 6th and the Board met on the 13th. We also had a "pot-luck" after service and a guest from Asia... Paul D. who shared his ministry with us that night! Our Royal Rangers and Girl Guard had their first AWARDS NIGHT of the year on Wed. the 16th with all-you-can-eat Ice Cream! The Ladies had a fellowship on the 19th at the Sharbono's home. West of 60's had a soup lunch after church on the 20th, followed with games. Catherine and John went to the Montana District Ministers Renewal in Butte. Rock Ralley took a "road trip" to some hot springs on the 25th and 26th for a local youth retreat, and had an awesome time. Missonaries Mark and Marina shared their ministry in Russian children. We had a Membership class on Sunday the 27th after the morning service to help people get a clear understanding of how it works at FCC, lunch was provided. McFellowship started for our men this month, every Wed. morning at 6:30 at McDonalds they get together for sharing and prayer.

HISTORY: 2007 events:
December... The ladies had a Bible study on the 1st at the church. Communion was on the 2nd along with a special speaker, our own Wally Hill sharing from the Word! West of 60's had a night of fun and sharing together on the 7th. It was their Christmas dinner and it was hosted by Dan and Jan Sayers. Sunday the 9th we took our Fire Bible offering for the year and it was awesome! Len Ventling came and shared with us his vision for Montana Light for the Lost. Sunday night a missionary (Johnathan Delgatty) came and shared his heart with us. The ladies had a second Bible study on the 15th at the Church followed by some decorating. We also held our Christmas party for the Church Board and their families at 5:30 on the 15th. The third part of our "Christmas gift" series was held with a special candle-light service on Christmas Eve. No services on Christmas Day or the 26th. Then after our morning service we had a Baptism service for some of the new Christians that have came to Christ this year. It was a special service for 9 teens and kids who wanted to start their new life and new year off in Christ! Our Annual "talent show" was held on new years eve, we also watched the Movie "Flywheel" that night and Prayed in the New Year!
The ladies started the month with a Bible study on the 3rd, they are doing the video study by Dr. Leslie Parrot, and having a great time! Communion was on the 4th this month. We collected a pickup truck load of food for the local food bank this month. West of 60's had a great breakfast at the church on the 10th with Pastor Lonnie Peterson as our guest speaker. We showed a video for our Veterans on the 11th. Aquire the Fire was on the 16th and 17th and the teens camped out at the church. We had 33 teens! The Ladies had a second meeting on the morning of the 17th. Our annual community Thanksgiving service was on the night of the 18th. Operation Christmas Child boxes from our church were taken to the drop point on the 19th. Several familes shared Thanksgiving together at here church again this year on Thanksgiving Day.The Rangers and Girl Guard went to Steepworld for a day of wall climbing on the 23rd, wow was that wild! On Sunday the 25th Nate Phillips shared with us about his missions trip from this summer, and the church board had a meeting after service as well. The amazing thing about November was that even during hunting season we had a lot of new growth!
October was a month of changes. Some changes we didn't like, but we needed to adjust too... and so we moved forward with Ministry and Worship with a "hole" in our team where a friend once stood, we will miss our friend Steven for a long time to come. On the 7th we had communion, a pot-luck, a board meeting, and a concert that night! Linda Linear shared her ministry with us and sang her heart out! The next week we had a couple of work days and pulled out some old stumps and painted most of the church outside. The youth went to Butte for youth convention on the 18th and had a great time, and we had a new teen give her life to Christ! Steve Fry and family (missionaries to Kosova) shared on the night of the 21st. Our church hosted the sectional business meeting on the 23rd and new offices were elected and filled in the Yellowstone section. Pizza kits were a hit this year and should give enough funds to our childrens programs to last the whole year! West of 60's loaded a van and went to the Museum of the rockies on the 27th (road trip, whoo hoo!). Our Men's group put on a BBQ and a slide show/video on the night of the 28th, showing all the awesome places the ATV trips took them this year. Our last event was our annual Harvest Party put on by our Women's Ministry team on the 31st at the church, a great time again!
September was kick off month! Communion the 2nd, then after service we had a "Cowboy BBQ" out at Rusty Bray's cowboy town! We had a gunfight, or bank robbery, or something going on along those lines... horseshoe pits, volleyball net, and a pie throwing booth. All the proceeds from the booth and auction went to Royal Rangers. Then on the night of the 6th we had the Lundstroms here at the church for a night of music and ministry, three people gave their life to Christ for the first time, and several made recommitments! Men's ministry had a "campout" at Red Lodge from the 7th-9th. Lots of fishing, hiking, and hanging out! Tim warner and Tony Kosteleky led some great discussions and we had good prayer times. Rock ralley youth kicked off on Sept. 12th with a concert and "pizza event" with 4 other youth groups in Billings, a great time! On the night of the 15th at 6:30 we had the 7 man "hillbilly trio" in concert, a lot of fun and comedy too! Rangers and "Girl guard" started off on Wed. the 19th. We had a tragic loss to our church this month when Steven Blair was killed in a single car accident on the 18th. We had a prayer service for teens.. about 50 came. A memorial service with videos of his concerts and such and 170 came, several re-dedicated their lives to Christ! Then nearly 300 came to the funeral, many "books of hope" were passed out afterwards. Steve will be missed and was part of our ministry team at this church, his prayers and words continue to change lives. 23 Campus missionaries were dedicated on the 23rd. The national "See you at the pole" event was held on the morning of the 26th and several churches had a breakfast at Thompson Park before the event. Teens served their parents dinner on the night of the 30th. Womens ministries started a new study, and in Billings from the 28th through the 30th they had a state-wide retreat.
August 5th was communion, and that night we had some missionaries from Iraq bring their whole family to share with us what God is doing in the Middle East. What a wonderful family! Kids camp started on the 7th and we had 7 kids go along with a couple of adults. The 12th was a church pot-luck and our board meeting. We continued our Revelation Disscussion on Wed. nights this month. The Ranger commanders got together on the 19th to make plans for the new year. The Downpour Festival was awesome with our own band "Volitale Mismatch" playing in Great Falls during that 3 day event. Campus Missionaries started off the year with their first meeting on the 26th at Eric's house. West of 60's summer camp was from the 27th-29th at Hungry Horse.
July started off with a board meeting and communion on the 1st. A church-wide outreach on the 4th of July as we set up a free mini-golf course next to the park and passed out free bottled water in the name of Jesus all day! We gave out 800 bottles of water and about 200 people played mini golf! We also gave of several Books of hope and some Bibles. The youth had a car wash on the 7th to raise money for their camps and also gave out bottled water with scriptures on them! We had Barbra Fairchild in concert on the 15th at the church. JR teen camp was from the 16th to 21st. West of 60's had a BBQ and planning meeting on the 21st with about 15 in attendance, they are getting some great ideas for ministry and fun! The last church ATV trip this year was on the 26th-28th in Cooke city and we had 16 in attendance, and had a great time together. SR teens started their camp on the 29th and ran into Aug. God did awesome things in our teens, a couple of new believers and some re-commitments to Christ! The office remodel is almost finished, and we can see the floor and walls again!
June had much for adventure! The Royal Rangers started the summer with a trip to STEEPWORLD on the 2nd of June for rockwall climbing and instruction. Then we had the Balyeat's here at 6:30 June 3rd for a blue-grass concert. Communion Sunday was on the 3rd. On the 9th at 6:00am we had a group of men go to Ranger Mtn. and do some repairs and put siding on our cookshack. Misty Toland and the ladies had a meeting/bridal shower on the 10th at 12:15. Thirteen boys went on the camping trip from the 14th through the 17th at this years Ranger Mtn adventure. We offered low cost health tests to our community with Life-line screening on the 15th and had almost 300 people show up this year! The Annual "Garage Sale" was on the 22nd and 23rd and we raised over 300 dollars for camps! Ron and Opal Erickson played us some coutry gospel music on the 24th. The Friends club had a "night out" on the 26th. The month ended with a wedding on June 30th: Guy Warner and Misty Toland became man and wife! The Lord is good!
May got here fast! On the 3rd we joined in prayer with other churches in Laurel for the National Day of Prayer. This was followed by doughnuts and coffee. We had a board meeting on the 6th, and also started off two months of BBQ's! Every sunday we will have 3 or 4 homes hosting BBQ's for fellowship and fun times, sign up at the Sunday morning service! May 13th was Mother's Day, and 15 ladies went to "Women of Faith on the 18th and 19th. The men had a meeting on Friday night the 18th. Our Awards night for the Rangers and Missionettes was on the 20th, and was followed with all you can eat ICE CREAM! The last meeting for the groups was on May 23rd. We had our First church Camping/ATV trip of the year on Memorial Day weekend. 0ver 200 miles of riding in 4 days were available. Many went to the Ice caves, saw wild horses and we had great fellowship together, 37 quads were in the group on one day! The 27th was Pentecost Sunday and we had 5 seniors that graduated that afternoon. The masters commision of Montana dropped in and did some work around the church and the youth had a great time with them. Overall, it was another great month!
April had a theme... reaching out! We went door to door throughout Laurel to invite people to attend their church this Easter. Not just our church, but to any of the churches here in Laurel. What a great response we had! The first Sunday in April was Communion Sunday. We also had a Seder meal at the church on Tuesday the 3rd, 31 people were in attendance. We veiwed the movie "Passion of the Christ" on Good Friday at 7:00pm. Easter Service was the 8th at 10:00am, but for those wishing to brave the morning cold, we had a Sunrise Service at 6:00am.. it was awesome with over 20 in attnedance. The youth did the entire service on the 15th, and that service was followed by a Board meeting and a Church BBQ. Then we had the Montana District Council meetings from the 16th to the 18th, with Nicky Cruz as a special guest on the 18th. A new superintendent was elected for our state, the Rev. Alan Warneke will start in Aug. as the new head of the AOG in Montana. The month of April closed out with the youth giving out free pizza and pop at the school... with an added bonus of free "books of hope" for all who would take them. The youth then had a bon-fire and BBQ at the river. On the last Sunday in april a local evangelist (Michael Ray) shared his ministry with the church. The Gideons raised over 400 dollars for Bibles in the last service of the month as well!
On March 2nd John Ashcroft did a great job for our Montana missions Dinner and missionaries will be blessed with the money raised. The ladies met at the church for a bible study with a guest speaker... Patti Lorenzen on the 3rd, then that night we had a good turnout for the showing of "ONE NIGHT WITH THE KING". We had real Jewish cookies and a time of prayer. We spent 4 weeks with a series on CREATION FAITH, both adults and teens had lessons together. The Royal Rangers went to the state Derby in Sidney on the 10th of march. Laurel had the "Best in show" car, the second fastest Ranger car, and several medals. We also toured a draw bridge and went into the only tunnel in North Dakota! March 11th was our Annual Business meeting and potluck. March 17th we had a progressive dinner that went house to house and ended with cheesecake! On the 18th Carol Howell came as a guest speaker for a night service. And Sunday the 25th we had our first "west of 60's meeting and lunch" and our 60's group is officialy kicked off! Work days were through the whole month as we changed our office space around and added a handicapped bathroom to the upstairs of the church.
February started with our first youth "Human video" on Sunday morning, a very powerful and well done performance! It also started with communion that Sunday. Our focus in Feb. was relationships: in our family, marraige, freindships, church, community and with God. We had a special speaker: the Rev. Carl Bauman, who shared with the board, the church, and our leadership team. We also served a lunch honoring our church workers and their families on this same weekend. Sunday night the 11th we hosted a community youth meeting with the pastors here in town, and will be having another soon. The 14th was a prime rib dinner for Valentines day, with 36 in attnedance. The 16th we showed the movie "fighting the giants" at the church, a great outreach! The teens started a "30 hour famine" to raise money for starving children in 3rd world countries, they had a lock in for those 30 hours at the church. Sunday night the 18th the men feasted on wild game, and Virgil Sharbono shared a study, and it was good fellowship too. Then the district men's retreat was in Butte on the 23rd and 24th. The 25th was National women's ministries day, and the ladies took time to share what the Lord has done in them this year. The night of the 25th was our local Royal Ranger/ Missionette Pinewood Derby night! Trophy's and medals to the winners! Gentlemen start your engines!
The ladies had a fellowship on Jan. 6th. The we started the year off with Communuion on the 7th of January. The first outpost council meeting of the year was also on the 7th. On the 14th, Dave and Cindy Johnson were here from Kosova, sharing with us the ministry they are involved with. The service was followed by a potluck. That night our mid-year awards presentaions for Royal Rangers and Missionettes took place, with all you can eat ice cream afterwards! Sunday the 21st was BAPTISM SUNDAY, we had 19 people get baptized! We finished our membership classes and had nearly 10 new people ask to join the church. Ministers Renewal was in Butte from the 22nd thru the 24th and was a great time. The Missonette leaders had a two day retreat on the 26th and 27th at a bed and breakfast near Columbus. On sat. the 27th 20 boys and girls showed up to a "derby car cutting day" at the church. Our last service of the month will had two infants being dedicated to the Lord and Bob Untersher from Trinity Bible college shared with us the vision of the college.

HISTORY: 2006 events:
Another Holiday month means December was packed and crazy! The Ladies had their monthly meeting on Sat. the 2nd This was also a cup exchange and decorating the church for Christmas.On the 3rd we had communion, and then a Live Nativity Scene in the town square. We also had church potluck on the 10th, a board meeting, and then at 7:00PM... a worship service.This service had all music types... country gospel, blue grass gospel, praise, and even some rock, four churches helped put it off. The Missonettes and Rangers had a "fun day" 16th from 10am to 4pm. They all went on a special trip to an old fashioned Cowboy town and got to see awagon wheel be made. Our speed the light offering was taken on the 13th. A "Fire Bible" offering was taken on the 17th. We had almost 20 go to "The Nativity Story as a church on the 17th too. On the 24th we had a morning and evening service, a bell choir performance by the kids was awesome and the evening candle-light service was a time of worship and reflection. Then we ended the month with a New Years Party and talent show! Praying in the New Year together!
We started November with a ladies brunch at the church on Sat. the 4th at 10:00am. We had the "Masters Commission" here on the 7th with a 14 member team at our first hosted sectional youth rally about 50 teens showed up for the event. Volitale Mismatch led our worship for the night. The Aquire the Fire event was soon to follow on the 17th-18th. We had a warm up concert (VM) at the church at 4:00pm and dinner at 5:00pm. The teens came back and stayed the night in the church, and attended the event the next whole next day as well. The 19th was the last day to turn in your boxes for Operation Christmas Child and we had a great turn out for that again this year. We had a special speaker on Sunday the 19th, Reese Stephan, a long time freind of the church here in Laurel who now is active in Billings with Chi Alpha. That night was the community Thanksgiving service at 7:30 PM at Our savior's Lutheran church. A very special 50th wedding celebration came up on the 25th for Harris and Shirley Olson, and we held the celebration in the church. A great month!
For October we had plenty planned again! A native Columbus man, John Koeshelle came on Oct. 1st, he is a missonary in Europe. The ladies had their first "brunch" on Sat. the 7th. On the 15th we had a Buddy Barrel decorating contest for BGMC and raised $165.00 in coins! Youth convention was in Butte from the 19th-21st and we had 14 teens go. We sent 7 lay-teachers to training on the 21st at parkhill assembly. The classes were taught by Jill Riley. The week of 22nd-28th was dedicated to fasting and prayer for our church, community, and our State leadership. Then on Oct. 31st our women's ministries hosted a Halloween alternative here at the church! Games and prizes, food and candy! We had about 150 in attendance through the night.
In Sept. we had our local Men's retreat up in the beartooth mtns. We had a great time! Doug and Bonnie Knox were our guest speakers, for both at the retreat and for Sunday service. The Women had a ladies night on the 8th. The Yellowstone Valley Kids Choir started meeting in the church on Tues. mornings for practice followed by breakfast on the 12th. Our annual church work day was Sept.16th. The 18th was the light for the lost dinner, the 20th was the kick off day for Royal Rangers, Missionettes, and Rock Ralley. Then 8 of our women went to the district womens retreat from the 22nd-24th. The 24th was also voter registration Sunday at the church and we offered cards and absente ballot requests for those wishing to vote in the coming elections. We had Nate Lashway from Madagascar on Sunday night the 24th. Then the Rally night for "see you at the pole" featuring a concert by Bobby Bishop at Parkhill AOG in Billings! The next morning at 6:30 am in the park we had a "see you at the pole" breakfast with our other local churches, followed by the teens going to their schools and praying for God to move, this year over 70 teens were in attendence. Youth pizza day started up on the 27th too!
Aug. started with kids camp from the 7th to the 11th at Eastern Kids camp near Lambert. Then on Sat. the 12th we had "Praise in the Park" a whole day of outreach! Kids games and a candy toss, then a free lunch to all! At 1:30 Cissy Padget in concert, followed by our very own worship team from Family Christian Center. A short break, then the evening was turned over to the teens. Free super nachos, followed by two local youth bands! The Grace Bible Band and Volitale Mismatch. On Sunday night the 20th we had our missionaries from Moldova here to minister to us. School started on Aug. 30th and the youth had a pizza party on that night. Communion was served on the 6th.
July started off with a "BANG" with Dedication sunday! We had 4 infants being dedicated on July 2nd! Then we had a BBQ on the 4th of July at Eric's house, and we watched the big parade from his corner lot.Then we went to the Laurel fireworks display! Jr. Teen camp was from July 10th to the 15th, and we had two students get baptized in the Holy Spirit. On the 13th we attended a breakfast for Pastors put on by Focus on the Family. Then on the 14th and 15th we had two church ATV clubs ride together to Independence.. a ghost town at around 9000 ft. in the Beartooth mtns. Awesome scenery and a great time, except for Wally's cooler which suffered damage by a black bear. On Sat. July 22nd we opened our building for medical screening and medical tests at a reduced cost! We had over 200 people come get tested! Men's ministry had a BBQ night on July 23rd and sold some prints to raise money for outreach. SR. Teen camp was awesome, we had a great time and enjoyed awesome worship with over 500 teens, the camp went from the 23rd-29th. We had 6 teens sign on to become campus missionaries. Wow, that about wraps up July it was a busy month!
June was exciting, we had an evangelist from "Bridging the Gap Ministries" on Wed. the 7th (Brent Kuntz). We celebrated pentecost Sunday, had communion and also the Global Day of prayer... all on the 4th! We had our annual youth garage sale and raised several hundred dollars for camps. We had a ladies meeting/babyshower on the 12th at the Pastors house. Then the Rangers got to go on their first Ranger mountain adventure in 12 years, on the 15th-18th. They went fishing at crystal lake, hiking, services and games. They had a great time (check out the pics). We finished the Celebration of discipline study after 13 weeks, a very rich time. Then Sunday the 25th we had a "hang out" day for the Worship team, they went to lunch and bowling as a special thanks from the church to them for all of their hard work!
May started with the "National Day of Prayer" community prayer meeting, and was followed by a breakfast of Crispy Cremes! Communion was shared on Sunday the 7th. Our wed. night boys class has been working on camping basics getting ready for our 4 day trip in the Snowy mtns. in June. Then Friday afternoon we had a group of about 10 people go to the Benny Hinn crusade. The Youth had a BBQ for lunch each and every Wed. of the month! Then on Wed. night the 19th starting at 7:00PM we had the "LORD OF THE RINGS night" ...all three movies in the extended version, pizza with ice cream, followed by a breakfast the morning of the 20th! May 21st we had a special guest representing Native American ministries in MT, Chuck Vanasse! Then Sunday evening we had a church BBQ and pie-auction to raise money for Glacier bible camp. Then we had our first big camping trip up at Ranger MTN. Lots of rain, mud, and fun! Some brought paintball guns, others brought quads or bikes... we had a great time! "Girlfreinds" ended their program until the fall, at which time they will become missonettes, and boys will be starting rangers. The adults are still continueing our study of the disciplines of the Christian faith. May was great!
April 1st we had a group of 5 men that went to "Ranger Basics training" in Columbus, MT. This gets us ready to start the program in the fall of this year! We held a board appreciation dinner on Mon. night at the church April 3rd. April also started a new Adult bible study for the next twelve weeks based on the book "Celebration of Discipline" by Richard Foster on Wed. nights. We held a community wide Seder feast on Thursday April 13th (140 were in attendance). On Good Fri. we had a showing of the movie "The Passion", and the movie "Jesus" for our kids in the basement. Easter was April 16th. Catherine started a 6 week ladies Bible study on April 18th. It will be on Tuesdays at 7:00PM and the title is "Fabulous Females of Faith". The Men had a Men's minisrty kick off night on April 21st, with brats and beans! We have elected Tony Kostelecky as our director and Steve Arnold as treasurer! Our new church seceratary Heather K. started on the 24th of April. The Youth held an auction on April 30th to raise money for camp, and we held our first BGMC Sunday on April 30th, boys and girls brought coins to donate to missions, each year churches in MT raise thousands of dollars for missions through this program for kids!
March was full! The teens went to "Aquire the Fire" on March 3rd-5th. Then we had "Servants Heart" here for a concert on Mon. the 6th. We started new kid classes on the 8th, the girls start "g.i.r.l.f.r.i.e.n.d.s." for the next 12 weeks, and the boys are doing "Truth works" for 9 weeks. We showed "The Epic" on Wed. the 8th ( a dramatic presentation of the gospel by John Eldredge). Our annual business meeting and pot-luck on March 12th. Chad Arnold was reelected to the board for a second 3 year term, and Tony Kostelecky was elected to our open postion. Mary Ballenger came on the night of the 15th, we had sandwhiches and deserts and then she gave us an update on her ministry in Africa. We raised enough money to put a pastor in trainning through his schooling in Africa, to support the converts that are coming to Christ in record numbers there right now. We had a special a guest speaker on Sunday the 26th: Nathan Lant from Chi Alpha in Dillion. And we wraped up this month with our state District Council Meetings the 27th-29th.
Feb. 5th was communion, we also had a dedication that morning! Dana Miller was dedicated by her family in the morning service! Then on Valentine's Day we had a "date night" with Prime rib and all the trimmings. 33 were in attendance. For ladies night on the 17th we had a special speaker, Carol Bo Howell. Youth Group was switched to Wed. nights. We started a 6 week class on parenting teens which will end in March (every Tues. night for 6 weeks at 7:00 PM). Then on Feb 23rd we hosted the "seven project" meeting at noon. The 24th was the Royal Ranger training meeting in Butte and the Mens retreat. We also put several sermons online this month!
We started Jan. off with "The armor of God" on our New Year's Day service! Our 12 and under group of kids have been learning about the armor of God, and even made their own suits of armor and did a skit New Years day! Communion was served Jan 1st. Narnia for kids started the 8th on Wed. nights! On the 15th the Worship team and those interested in joining it had a meeting and a potluck. Fri. night the 20th was a ladies fellowship night at the Farnes home. Then Sat. night 7:00 PM... Jan 21st we had Evangelist Michael Ray for the weekend. Several people were healed and many touched durning the two services! We also had a guest for Sunday school on the 22nd, Barb Houger missionary to Singapore who did an excellent job. Catherine and myself went to Minister's renewal in Butte for three days. Then on the 29th Bob Unterseher (from Trinity Bible college) shared a video presentation from Israel and pictures of the new Temple implements and the model of the new Temple. The new church directories came out on the 29th too!... and we also kicked off our greeting teams after church. And somehow, some of us found a way to go ride quads at the river too!
2005 events:
Dec. started with a Christmas tree hunt on Dec. 10th. followed by a Chillidog feed. Then Sunday the 11th we took a large group (38) to see the Narnia movie together! The ladies had the final ladies fellowship this year on Fri. the 16th. We had a worship service Christmas Eve at 7:00pm. We also had a Christmas Day service at 2:00pm. The youth played "capture the flag at the river on the 26th followed by a lunch of super nachos. On the 27th 13 of us went on a ATV trip, and were really covered in mud! On Dec. 31st starting at 7:00pm until 12:30 am we had pizza, and rounded off the night with games and movies at the church! What a busy month!
In Nov. look at all the great things we had going on! We had our Missionary from China coming on Nov. 13th for both our sunday school and morning service, We had the Gideons doing a 10 min. presentation on the 20th, and then the community wide service the same night at 7:00pm (multi-denominational) where our pastor was the guest speaker. Operation Christmas child was a success we put together 22 boxes to send overseas ! Then to top the month out, we had a Thanksgiving meal at the church at 3:00PM on Thanksgiving day , we had 18 this year! this dinner was followed by an evening of games and fellowship. Then fri. night the 25th we had a baby shower at the church, and Sunday night the 27th was youth game night!
Oct. finished a busy month, with kids convention, youth convention, and the start of many new programs...(Purpose driven life on Wed. nights, teen sunday school, and worship practices)... Add to that the potluck,Gospel outreach Sunday, Ladies Fellowship, BBQ and movie night(Left Behind 3)!Then the Teen movie night and Wow were we ever busy!
